Horrible, horrible place. Firstly, as you enter, you’ll be greeted by an old lady sat behind the counter - she’s the mamasan acting like she’s the mafia bossman. We asked for a simple ice coffee order to refresh from a 38% heatwave in Rome. They asked if it was for a takeaway or drink in, we ordered a ‘drink in’. They then presented 2 prices, one for ‘drink while standing’ inside and the other was ‘take away’. The take away price was double the price, so we opted for a ‘drink in’. My wife saw a table free, so she tried to sit on the chair - again, to enjoy the ice coffee from the heatwave. We were told not to sit as we only paid for the ‘stand in’ - fine, but what the hell?! It was all understood until mamasan mafia boss man said, ‘what is the problem here’?. I responded, we don’t understand, I asked, can we sit down? She responded, I spoke to you I spoke to you in English, you can only drink while standing up at the bar, explained rudely and abruptly. At that point, the Godzilla in me came out and said, how much will I have to pay to sit down in this place, I explained that this isn’t very welcoming to customers and that if I have to pay more, I would. She asked me to lower my voice as she now thought she didn’t want this problem. We left the coffee on the counter and didn’t drink it. Stay away from this place, and to the lady behind the counter who provoked this, well deserved 0 stars for you!
