Overall very good with a letdown in the overpriced food. An extortionate price was charged for supposedly a hot pasta dish with a drink bread and a yoghurt. Upon discovering the pasta was quite cold staff were indifferent and simply asked if I had finished with the meal repeatedly before asking me to pick up from the floor what looked like an employee ID card. Definitely not a place to ever recommend to eat.
Other than that several hours were spent in this amazing location with many museums, lots of fantastic works of art, the astatine Chapel and more. Lots of staff around who were all reasonable, lots of walking involved and multiple opportunities to buy a gift or two. Definitely worth visiting, just avoid the food.
Did a self-guided morning at the Vatican museums.
Such an amazing array of art work and sculptures
Well worth the time and energy.
Finally seeing the Vatican Museums after a lifetime of faith was truly a moment of grace for our entire family from Cebu. We felt super emotional walking through those majestic halls—it was like seeing centuries of Catholic history right before our eyes, and the sheer number of amazing artifacts was overwhelming in the best way. The highlights were, of course, the Raphael Rooms; the details were just beyond amazing, and you could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in those masterful paintings. But the Sistine Chapel, Aba! (Wow!), that was the peak of our pilgrimage. Standing under Michelangelo’s ceiling, especially that famous Creation scene, was a profoundly humbling moment that connected us deeply to our Catholic roots. You realize how much sacrifice and devotion went into preserving this heritage for the world. We spent the whole day inside, but honestly, it still felt too short. We were so impressed by the curation and the respect shown to all the relics and masterpieces. For any Filipino family, especially those with strong faith, this is not just a tourist spot; it’s a spiritual destination and a super must-see when in Rome. We are already planning and praying that we get another chance to visit this blessed place again soon.
