A beautiful museum with great art
Amazing treasures abound at the Vatican Museums. It tends to be crowded but there are plenary of opportunities for photos.
The Vatican museums are undoubtedly beautiful and awe inspiring. We took a guided tour with the Vatican museums rather than an outside company. It was well organised and our guide was very knowledgeable however way too many people/ groups are allowed into the museum at any one time meaning that it is way too crowded to actually enjoy the visit properly. Of course, reducing numbers so that people are not moving shoulder to shoulder through the majority of the visit would mean reducing income so I guess that is not going to happen. It’s a shame , as the Sistine chapel especially had no sense of a place of worship just a crowd of people herded into the middle and being told to ‘shush’.
