GENERAL QUESTIONS

WHAT LANGUAGES DO YOU OFFER TOURS IN?

We offer tours in a variety of languages, mostly English, German and Spanish. Please look at the individual tour description for details and availability.

Please be assured that we never do multi-language tours where the guide repeats everything in several languages. If you book a tour in a specific language, you can be guaranteed that the full tour will take place in only that language.

ARE YOUR TOURS WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

Unfortunately, due to accessibility restrictions at most sites, we cannot accommodate wheelchair users on most of our tours. For example, at the Vatican Museums wheelchair users must follow a different route that is not open to non-wheelchair users.

We can cater for wheelchair users on some of our private tours as these services can be tailored to suit individual needs. Please contact us directly if you would like to avail of this service and we would be happy to assist you.

CAN I BRING A STROLLER ON THE TOUR?

Strollers are permitted on some but not all of our tours. At some sights strollers are not permitted inside and on others we do not recommend that you bring a stroller. If you wish to bring a stroller please get in touch with us and we will work with you to arrange an alternative. Where strollers are permitted that will be noted in the ‘Additional Information’ section of each individual tour description.

DOES THE TOUR STILL RUN WHEN IT IS RAINING?

Yes! Our tours run rain or shine. Occasionally, in cases of extreme weather some sights may be closed and if this is the case we will inform you of this as soon as we are made aware of the closure.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

For certain tours yes there is. It is necessary for men and women to cover their shoulders and knees when entering churches and the Vatican Museums.

Bookings

DO YOU ACCEPT SAME DAY/LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS?

If we have space remaining we are happy to facilitate last minute bookings. If you don’t find availability for what you’re looking for, always give our team a call and we may be able to take a booking over the phone, space permitting.

I AM HAVING PROBLEMS BOOKING ON YOUR WEBSITE

If you are using an old version of Internet Explorer you may encounter difficulties booking on our site. If you are experiencing any difficulties when booking please feel free to give us a call or email us and we will be happy to facilitate booking for you directly, subject to availability.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept payments via all major credit cards and Paypal. Payments must be made directly through our website at the time of booking or over the phone. Our guides cannot accept cash payments at the time of the tour.

Our website is completely secure and your payment details are not saved on our system or server.

We currently do not accept the RomaPass as all of our tickets and reservation fees are paid in advance of the tour date.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY BOOKING CONFIRMATION?

Once your booking has been completed you will a confirmation email shortly thereafter. This email will include all of your reservation and tour information.

If you do not receive an confirmation email, please check your spam/junk mail in case our email has gone into that folder. If not, please contact us providing the email address used to book the tour and we will re-send your booking confirmation.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY BOOKING CONFIRMATION?

Once your booking has been completed you will a confirmation email shortly thereafter. This email will include all of your reservation and tour information.

If you do not receive an confirmation email, please check your spam/junk mail in case our email has gone into that folder. If not, please contact us providing the email address used to book the tour and we will re-send your booking confirmation.

DO I HAVE TO SHOW MY CONFIRMATION EMAIL AT THE MEETING POINT?

Yes. However you don’t have to bring a printed copy, you can show your voucher directly from your phone or tablet.

If you don’t have access to your electronic copy and don’t have a printed copy don’t worry. The guide will have a list of all the guests attending the tour.

IS EVERYTHING INCLUDED IN THE PRICE LISTED ON THE WEBSITE FOR EACH TOUR?

Yes, the price displayed with each tour is the final price per person for that tour. This includes entrance, reservation and headset fees so you can be sure there are no hidden costs that will be applied later.

HOW WILL I RECOGNISE MY TOUR GUIDE AT THE MEETING POINT?

Your tour guide will be at the designated meeting point at least 15 minutes before the tour is due to start. They will be holding a sign with our Show Me Italy logo and name on it.

If for any reason you are unable to locate your guide, please give us a call and we will direct you to where they are.

WHAT IF I AM RUNNING LATE FOR MY TOUR?

We ask that you arrive to the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour is due to begin. This allows time for everyone to get checked-in and enables the tour to start on time.

If you are in any way delayed, please call us as soon as possible and we will try to assist you. It is not always possible for the tour to wait for your arrival, especially in cases where we have a designated entrance time for a particular site, but we will endeavour to do all that we can to assist you.

Please note that whilst we will do what we can to accommodate you if you are late or miss your tour, refunds will not be given for missed tours.

MODIFY/CANCEL RESERVATIONS

CAN I MODIFY MY BOOKING?

Yes it is possible to modify your booking but any modifications made within 24 hours of your tour will be subject to a re-booking fee to cover the cost of tickets, reservations etc already purchased.

If you need to amend your booking with more than 24 hours notice we would be happy to assist you with this, availability permitting. A fee will not be applied to amendments made 24 hours before your tour is due to take place.

To amend your booking, please contact us by telephone or email quoting your confirmation number.

If you booked via a third party company, please contact them directly to amend your booking.

ROME FAQS

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

Yes for entry into any religious site in Rome, for example, Catholic Churches and the Catacombs, the dress code requires both men and women to cover their shoulders and knees.

WHAT CAN I BRING WITH ME INTO THE COLOSSEUM?

Due to security rules at the Colosseum, you are only permitted to bring a small bag inside the Colosseum. Please be advised that there are no storage facilities at this site so if a larger bag is not permitted by security then you may not be able to join the tour.

Skip-the-Line tours refer to the ticket lines only. Every group member must complete a security check which can lead to some slight delays. Please note that articles such as knives and glass containers will not be permitted inside.

DOES THE COLOSSEUM TOUR CONSIST OF MUCH WALKING?

Yes, The Colosseum itself has several levels accessed via steep steps and the tour consists of quite a bit of walking.

I HAVE DIETARY REQUIREMENTS, CAN I STILL ATTEND YOUR FOOD TOUR?

Absolutely yes. Our Monti Food Tour can be tailored to suit most dietary needs. If you provide us with enough notice of your requirements then we should be able to accommodate you. While we will do our best to accommodate special requirements, we cannot guarantee that it will always be possible to provide an alternative. For those guests suffering from severe food allergies we would not recommend that you take the Food Tour.

WHAT CAN I BRING INTO THE VATICAN MUSEUMS?

Only small bags may be brought into the Vatican Museums. Any bags larger than 40cm x35cm x 25cm and other large items, such as, umbrellas, must be checked in at the cloakroom. However, please note that returning to the cloakroom to collect items is inconvenient as our tour ends at St Peter’s Basilica which is an approximate 20 minute walk from the entrance to the Museums.

All guests must pass through a security check upon entering the Museums. Dangerous items, such as pocket knives or glass containers, will not be permitted inside the museums.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS ON THE VATICAN TOUR?

In the Vatican Museums and St Peter’s Basilica – yes – snap away to your heart’s content.

In the Sistine Chapel – NO – photography of any kind is strictly prohibited inside the Sistine Chapel.

ARE VATICAN GROUP TOURS ACCESSIBLE FOR WHEELCHAIR USERS?

Unfortunately, due to accessibility restrictions in the Vatican Museums, we cannot accommodate wheelchair users on our group tours. This is due to the fact that wheelchair users must follow a separate accessible route through the Museums.

We are happy to accommodate wheelchair users on our private tours as we have the flexibility to follow the alternative route. In such circumstances, your guide will take you through the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, but not St Peter’s Basilica.

AT THE END OF THE TOUR CAN I REMAIN IN THE MUSEUMS AND EXPLORE ON MY OWN?

Unfortunately not as the tickets do not permit re-entry so it is not possible to go back into the Museums after visiting St Peter’s Basilica.

FLORENCE FAQS

DO YOUR TOURS OF THE ACCADEMIA AND THE UFFIZI HAVE SKIP THE LINE ACCESS?

Yes – we know that your time is precious so all of our tours of the Uffizi and Accademia have direct access so there will be no waiting in long lines.

DO THE FLORENCE TOURS HAVE A DRESS CODE?

The dress code at Catholic Churches and religious sites requires that both men and women cover their shoulders and knees. Anyone who arrives without the appropriate dress may be denied entry. In these circumstances we cannot offer refunds for any tours missed or partially missed.
